Daanje, Anjet. The Song of Stork and Dromedary. Translated by David McKay, Scribe Publications, 2026.
As someone who admittedly judges a book by its cover, as soon as I came across this, I immediately added it to my reading list. The synopsis,"...an absorbing literary mystery and an unforgettable meditation on love, life, loss, and the inexplicable nature of time ... inspired by the life and work of Emily Brontë" only served to further draw me in. I am anxiously awaiting to receive this in the mail.
last watch
I’m Still Here (Ainda Estou Aqui). Directed by Walter Salles, Video Filmes, 2024.
This movie was all the buzz during the 2024-25 awards circuit and I just got around to watching it. It was beautiful and tragic. Fernanda Torres gave a powerful performance as Eunice Paiva, the pillar of this vibrant family. This was a masterpiece in the storytelling of human resilience.

Tinashe. Popstar. Atlantic Records, 2026.
If you have not yet gotten around to listening Tinashe’s latest album… what are you doing? The album perfectly balances moodier tracks such as "Empty Stadium," "Crash Out," and "Nobody Wanna Dance Anymore" with upbeat dance tracks like "Too Easy" or "Melatonin." From the first listen, this record easily stands out as one of the best drops of this year.
recent visit
Róhe. SoHo, New York, 2026.
I recently visited Róhe, an Amsterdam-based luxury fashion brand, at the company’s first New York flagship store. The contemporary space, which opened this September in SoHo, was thoughtfully curated. I loved the additions of art, small objects, and textures featured throughout, which served to enhance their latest collection.
